Austin Sunshine Camps is a 100% free and nationally accredited nonprofit, overnight summer camp for students ages 8-15, who either qualify for free/reduced lunch or are part of the foster-care system. We serve families who are in a 2-hour radius of Austin. (We also have paid employee positions available for those ages 16+.)
Registration for our free day camps for First Time Campers is NOW open with our first free event taking place on Monday, November 13th. The summer camp application will open on Monday, Oct. 30th.
Campers who qualify get to participate in a 10-day, 9-night traditional summer camp completely for free, which includes activities like hiking, arts & crafts, s’mores, a high ropes course, canoeing, and many other great activities.
Austin Sunshine Camps is hosted in two locations, with 4 sessions at each location:
- our Zilker Lodge location in Zilker Park – for campers ages 8-11
- our Lake Travis location – for campers ages 12-15
