Human Sexuality and Responsibility Parent Orientation Meeting, April 2nd

The District’s sexuality education program has been established to provide information and skill development for students in Kindergarten through grade 12 so that they may reach their highest potential for physical, emotional, mental, and social health. The District’s core values of high expectations, respect for the individual, resources to support student needs, and shared ownership and commitment, as specified in the District Improvement Plan, shall be reflected in the design and implementation of the sexuality education program.

You can join Mr. Drummond on April 2nd at 5:30 pm in the library for a discussion regarding the Human Sexuality and Responsibility Curriculum and other important information related to this unit.  This meeting is not focusing on proposed changes to the curriculum planned for the 2019-2020 school year. Nothing has changed for this school year from the previous years. We will review the District policies, the 2018-2019 lesson overviews, and the opt-out process.  Teachers will also be there to answer any additional questions.  You may visit the school library to review the current lessons anytime.  Additional information may be found on the Health Education website at https://www.austinisd.org/pe-health/health-education
