Hill Green Team

Hill Green Team kids and a few other 5th graders researched and designed solutions to help mitigate falling insect populations.  In an effort to create an insect garden next to the 5th grade Commons, they researched native plants for the shade that will serve as larval hosts and food sources for native insects, irrigation methods to save water loss, and erosion control methods to reduce nutrient runoff.  Each “team” created a grant video and submitted it to EcoRise, who awarded their hard efforts with a total of $1,430.26!   If you or your family is interested in helping out with planting efforts on Arpil 27th, a Saturday, please email: rachel.briles@austinisd.org.
