From Mr. Drummond

Dear Hill Community,

We hope you enjoy the extra hour today as we “fall back”. We want to give everyone an early note that there is no school on Monday, November 13th the week after this one. Staff will be completing professional learning on this day. We look forward to our Veterans Day assembly this Friday morning which is an annual tradition with our students. We thank all of the veterans in our community for their service and sacrifice for our country.

As this is a shorter communication, it is a good time for traffic safety reminders!

  • Parents/Guardians should not park in any of our parking lots for drop-off or pick-up. Thank you for utilizing our car line or parking on the streets. It is not safe to have cars backing in and out during these times.
  • We are noticing a rise in tardies right now. We want to encourage everyone to arrive prior to 7:40 am. If you were to leave just a bit earlier and arrive at 7:20 am, there is not even a car line yet! By 7:50 am (10 minutes late), we no longer have staff outside to help. We have many cars pulling in, families crossing, etc. It is not an ideal, safe situation. Thank you all for ensuring your student arrives on time. It helps them build routine and start the day with our school community as well!

You can check out the November Counselor Corner Newsletter here. If applicable, check out the linked information for Austin Sunshine Summer Camp and Year Round Programming. This is a 100% free and nationally accredited nonprofit, overnight summer camp for students ages 8-15, who either qualify for free/reduced lunch or are part of the foster-care system.

You can click here if you are interested in upcoming ATX Baller camps. Have an excellent week!
