From Mr. Drummond

Dear Hill Community,

The Hill Elementary Carnival is this upcoming Saturday, October 28th from 11:00-1:00! Click here (English Spanish) for all the information you need, including how to buy tickets. We hope to see everyone there for this fun, family event! Volunteers are still needed if you are able to sign-up at the link. See you on Saturday!

Our Hill Caregiver Series continues this week on Thursday in our Hill Library with a session on “Supporting your Child with ADHD”. You can click here for the flier. We appreciate our Austin ISD support and counselors that make the sessions possible.

We want to encourage our students who own Apple/Google Watches to leave these at home if possible. Several have been lost this year or misplaced. The school is not responsible for personal electronics like these. If they do come to school, please have your student keep them in their backpack just like we would a cell phone to keep them safe. This is also the policy stated under “personal electronic devices” in the district Student Handbook. Thank you for your support.

For the last few years, our staff has created an Ofrenda to remember loved ones and pets who we have lost for Dia de los Muertos. This year, we invite anyone interested to take part in our first Hill Community Ofrenda that is currently on our Yellow Brick Wall. You can click here for more information on how to participate with a photo

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees is resuming conversations about the superintendent profile and hiring process. Interim Superintendent Segura’s contract is currently set to expire June 30. The board is seeking community input to consider next steps.

You can click here for the link to a recording of our Parent UIL Meeting from this past week. Also, all the information is provided here in the parent letter with a section to return by early November if your student is interested in participating. A hard copy has gone out in Wednesday folders as well. Lastly, our wonderful PTA volunteers have created a new site you can access at https://uildillos.com/ with this and more information we can utilize this year.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next Saturday at Carnival!
