From Mr. Drummond

Dear Hill Community,

We have five school days until Spring Break! Hill School and Austin ISD will be closed March 11th-15th. We hope everyone has fun times with family coming up. We look forward to a busy few days with Sports Days taking place on Thursday and Friday this week!

We also begin celebrating FLEX Language Teacher Appreciation Week at Hill tomorrow! We want to thank Xuan Zhou, Natalie DeGeeter,  Sonya Walczyk, Kellie Norton, and Tiffany Lee for their support of our students’ growth in language and culture this year. We are proud of our FLEX Language Program and the uniqueness it brings to the Anderson Vertical Team.

AISD Pride Week is March 18-22. You can click on this Hill Pride Week Parent Communication Letter for more information. Please let Principal Drummond know if you have any questions.

Spring Pictures are this Wednesday, March 6th, throughout the morning. You can click here for the flyer with purchasing options, as well as visit them online at https://www.strawbridge.net/.

And Hill now has an employee with their doctorate on staff! If you see her this week, congratulate Dr. Nancy Martinez who will have her official graduation in April. Congratulations on finishing this amazing accomplishment, Nancy!

Principal Drummond

All Week — FLEX Teacher Appreciation Week!

THIS WEEK please say “Gracias! Merci! Danke! Xièxiè Nǐ! Gratias Tibi!” to our FLEX teachers: Kellie Norton (1st grade Spanish), Sonya Walczyk (2nd grade French), Tiffany Lee (3rd grade German), Xuanhua Zhou (4th grade Chinese), and Natalie DeGeeter (5th grade Latin). They make learning new languages so much fun for our Dillos! These rockstars aren’t on campus every day, so you’re invited to email your thanks OR drop off your non-perishable thank yous throughout the week. Reach out to April Beaty at appreciation@hillelementary.com with any questions. ¡Gracias a las familias de Hill por compartir su amor!

Dillo Cheer – Adrian Fudge & Compago

We want to give a big Dillo Cheer to Adrian Fudge (father of Charlotte in the fifth grade) and his company, Compago for their great partnership and support of the fifth grade legacy gift.  They had a team of seven people who worked tirelessly over the weekend to install a new four square pad for use by the entire school in this next stage of implementing the fifth grade legacy gift.

Lost & Found

The Lost & Found rack will be rolling out this week. Your child’s jacket is missing you :). Come take a look before Spring Break so you can be reunited.
