🧡 It’s 3rd Base Appreciation Week, and we are thrilled that it’s finally time to celebrate our 3rd Base Team! These outstanding women keep our Dillos safe and learning all afternoon, and are important bridge builders in our school-home relationships. Lucy Chu, Erica Mullen, Betty Thompson, and Tomeka Walker, we are so thankful for you! Hill families, please don’t let this week pass by without saying a great big thank you to them. You’re invited to ring the bell at the front doors to drop off (or have delivered) tasty treats, heartfelt notes, or anything else that lets them know how appreciated they are. April 3rd: All of our auction items will be available to preview! Start browsing and saving the items you don’t want to miss out on!

April 4th: All silent Auction Items go live at 6:30pm! You’ll have a full 24 hours to start bidding on your favorite items before the event even starts on April 5th!

🍸 What to expect at the event:

Food and Drinks: This Foodie fest will feature 6 tents that highlight delicious cuisines alongside a complimentary drink pairing. Your drink pairing at the tent will be on the house but you will still need to purchase drink tickets on Bidpal to enjoy drinks from one of the 3 bars!

Entertainment: While you’re enjoying your food and drink pairings, take in the sounds of Austin’s own Ryan Ross Band! Head to their Instagram page here to check them out!

Browse Auction Items: We will have some of our amazing auction items live and in person for you to peruse and continue bidding on!

Dress Code: This is a food festival so any festival attire is acceptable! Not into dressing up? Come as you are and enjoy the evening!

Some Anderson High School garden fairies came by and gave our garden a good sprucing up so we are no longer holding our work day on Saturday (2/24). Thank you to those of you that were interesting in coming by to lend a thumb this weekend. Stay tuned for other opportunities this Spring!

• Early voting is kicking off today! Avoid the crowds and make your voice count. Early voting ends March 1 Election day is March 5. Click here to find voting locations, see your sample ballot, and learn more about candidates up and down the ballot!
• February’s PTA meeting is this Thursday @7:45 in the Hill library. We’d love to see your face 😀.
• The sun has been out ☀️. Spring is springing 🌱. Gardening season is here! This weekend please join us for a Spring Cleaning in the Hill Garden on Saturday, February 24th from 8-10 AM 🧑‍🌾. All thumbs welcome!

• Calling all future Spielbergs and Gerwigs the Film Kids Summer Camp dates have been set! Make memories while making movies 🎥.
• There have been a few questions about Dillo Camp. Fear not, an update is coming soon as the roster gets finalized. We will post to our Facebook page and Instagram, as well as Dillo Details.

Hello Hill Families! You may have noticed that something was missing from your inbox. The Dillo Details did not go out at its normally scheduled time on Sunday due to unexpected software issues. Thanks to some behind the scenes technical wizardry (courtesy of someone much smarter than the AI Dillo pictured above) we should hopefully be up and running again. We hate that you all missed the latest updates so here is an abbreviated version of what we tried to send out.

• There’s still time to donate to the Share the Love food drive! Please consider helping if you can. This opportunity closes on February 16th.
• Did the conclusion of Valentine’s leave you with a full heart… and empty candy wrappers? Well, we’d love to have that trash! The Hill Green team has set up a recycling bin at school to collect all of those sugary remnants. Look for the big pink box. Donations can be made February 15th & 16th.
• The AISD Gifted & Talented Showcase is now accepting submissions. Time to let your bright ones shine!
• Interested in leveling up your PTA involvement? There’s still time to submit nominations for the Executive Board! The deadline is February 20th.
• P.E.X., the afterschool athletic program, still has spots open for the Spring session. And if you’re mapping out the summer fun registration is open for that session as well.
• Our wonderful counselors have issued their latest newsletter. Check out Feburary’s Counselor Corner here. Don’t miss their Family Connection Challenge!

Book Fair Family Night is TONIGHT from 5-8pm. Buy your favorite treats from the food trucks and then head on into the cafeteria to enjoy some crafts, stories, and singing while you eat.  Then come on over to the library to check out the book fair.

Please remember the fair CLOSES TOMORROW at 3:00pm.  And if you have purchased a gift card it must be used by then. Thank you Hill families for a super fun Literati Book Fair!
