Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Dillos will take the STAAR Reading test this Monday, April 15th. And our 5th grade Dillos will take the STAAR Science test this Thursday, April 18th.
Parents, caregivers, visitors, and volunteers are not allowed on campus during school hours (with the exception of the PTA meeting Thursday morning). Here’s a short list of STAAR-ready reminders: get a good night’s sleep, have a healthy breakfast, arrive at school on time, and bring healthy snacks and a book! Go Dillos!
Elementary schools throughout Austin ISD will be participating in Kindergarten Round Up. This is an opportunity to register your kindergartner for the 2024-2025 school year. Hill Elementary’s Kindergarten Round Up is at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 in the Hill School Cafeteria.
Please bring your incoming preK or kindergartner for a very special visit to Hill preK/Kindergarten classrooms. While the children visit the classroom, parents/legal guardians may register their child for school. Please bring the following documents (even if they have already been uploaded to AISD website):
- Original state-certified birth certificate, plus 1 copy
- Current immunization records, plus 2 copies
- Original Social Security number card, plus 1 copy
- Proof of address, such as a City of Austin utility bill or lease agreement, plus 1 copy
- Parent’s driver’s license, plus 1 copy

The Hill Elementary Alumni Scholarship was established in 2011 to honor Hill’s 40th anniversary. It is now called The Suzanne and Vincent Torres Hill Elementary Alumni Scholarship in honor of Mr. Torres and his wife, and their dedication to our school and the district. The goal is to recognize former students who have excelled in their academic endeavors, supported their community through service projects, and proven they possess a drive to further their education. By granting this scholarship, we encourage students to continue their academic endeavors beyond high school and hope to strengthen the relationship between Hill and its alumni. This year, one scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded.
Selection Criteria:
- Must be a graduating senior of AISD
- Must have attended Hill Elementary School for at least 3 years
- Must show involvement in community service
- Must write a one page essay
