In observance of Yom Kippur, Hill Elementary’s Walk to School Day has been rescheduled from Wednesday, October 5th to Wednesday, October 12th. Please disregard the flyer that came home in your student’s Wednesday folder yesterday. We will send an updated flyer home next week. We apologize for this scheduling mistake and are putting measures in place to ensure our that entire community is respected and included. Thank you Dillo families!

Sock Hop is tomorrow, Friday 9/16, from 5:30-7:30pm!
Don’t forget to wear your 50s attire to school AND to Sock Hop (adults too)! Our event will be held on the sport court and playground.
Get ready to bop ’til you drop, with great music for 50s dancing.
Practice those hula hoop skills too for contests at each grade level (with prizes)! New this year, we’ll have a parent hula hoop contest with a prize from Monogram Lady!
Bring cash or a card so you can cool off with a Kona Ice snow cone!
Volunteers are needed to help run this event. Please CLICK HERE to sign up for a short shift!
We can’t wait to see you at Sock Hop! Questions? Reach out to Allison at sockhop@hillelementary.com.

Your 2022 Hoopla Chairs want to apologize for the incomplete list of Family Sponsors!
We had an overwhelming number of generous Hill families support our school for Hoopla 2022. Turns out our original sponsorship list was incomplete. We want to give another big Dillo Cheer to EVERY FAMILY that contributed as a sponsor for Hoopla 2022. An updated sponsorship sign is on its way ASAP. You will find it hanging on the yellow brick wall at the entry of Hill.
Here is the complete list of Family Sponsors. We THANK YOU ALL!

Hill Hoopla Co-Chairs 2021 & 2022

Hi Hill Families,
I’m the Hill PTA VP of Communications (aka, Dillo Details person). Tonight our newsletter software sent out Mr. Drummond’s email from last week. I apologize for any confusion this caused! There are several of us working to figure out the glitch, so hopefully this doesn’t happen again!
Please join us for a Back to School – Grounds & Garden – Clean Up & Spruce Up THIS Saturday, August 6th from 8-11am. We will be holding TWO DRAWINGS FOR NEW DILLO TRUCKER HATS for all volunteers in attendance. Adults and kids, come help us get ready for the upcoming school year and put your name in for a new Hill hat!
Also, we need a handful of garden volunteers for the upcoming school year, too! If you LOVE to get your hands dirty, let us know at hillschoolgarden@gmail.com. Follow us on Facebook at Hill Dillo Garden! See you on the 6th! Elissa Adams and Julie Neitzel, Garden Chairs.

Get everything you need for the 2022-2023 school year by participating in Online Open House! In just a few minutes you can join Hill’s PTA, order birthday books and posters, and learn about the various ways we can support our school. CLICK HERE to begin! Online Open House will close on August 28th.

As district stakeholders, we are invited to share our thoughts about a possible bond this fall. Don’t miss your chance to be heard!
CURRENTLY: The Bond Steering Committee, in partnership with the Long Range Planning Committee, has prepared draft bond packages.
NEXT: If a bond election is to be held in November, the board must vote BY August to call the election.
IMPORTANT: Bond funds are NOT subject to recapture, so all bond funds raised remain in our community.
WHO: Campus PTAs can only advocate for/against bond proposals IF they hold a member vote. Hill has not held this vote, but rather encourages individuals to study the draft packages and let your individual voices be heard as the possible bond takes shape.
DETAILS: The AISD School Board will review the draft bond options on July 28th. There are currently two options: Option A and Option B.
OPTION A: The proposal provides for Hill’s security vestibule, plumbing, and HVAC to be improved. CLICK HERE to review the proposal.
OPTION B: This “Phase 2 Modernization” proposal provides for a full modernization of our existing building with only a one-cent tax increase. CLICK HERE to review the comprehensive proposal.
FEEDBACK: “We want to encourage our entire Hill community to give their feedback on which option they prefer. You can do this by emailing Board Trustees of your thoughts and hopes. You can also utilize the Let’s Talk feature AISD uses as well. They want to hear from our school!” -from Mr. Drummond
LEARN MORE: Come learn more and share your input!
- Thursday, July 14, 6–8pm. VIRTUAL OPTION, TODAY
- Saturday, July 16, 10am–12pm.
- Saturday, July 16 at 1:30–3:00pm.
