Share the Love

NOTE:  The previous email listed Mrs. Rupert’s email address incorrectly.  Her correct email address is jessica.rupert@austinisd.org.  SO SORRY about that everyone!

The Hill Caring and Sharing Committee invites you to SHARE THE LOVE!

Hill Elementary is grateful for our partnership with Hope Austin.  Every week, Hope Austin provides Weekend Meals for over 1,000 students, including many of our own Dillos!  They are in need of microwavable mac and cheese, and canned pastas.  Let’s support the program that supports us!  Please help us SHARE THE LOVE this week with Hope Austin by making a donation.  Every single donation makes a big difference for students experiencing food scarcity.

We’ve extended the donation deadline to this Friday, February 17th.  We’ve also added an easy online donation option! All you have to do is CLICK RIGHT HERE and you’ll be taken to our Amazon wish list.  Just “add to cart” and “checkout” to make your donation.  Your Hope Austin donations will ship right to Hill.

That was the helpful part.  Now here’s the fun part.  Which Hill class wants extra time at recess?  The class that has the highest number of donations will receive extra time at recess!

So, ORDER TODAY Dillos!  Right after you do, please send a quick email to ** jessica.rupert@austinisd.org ** to let her know what deliveries are coming from you and whose class(es) to credit them to!

Thank you so much,

Hill Caring and Sharing Committee

What are the details?  When: Friday, March 3rd 6:30-10:00pm.  Where: Great Hills Country Club.  Who: Hill Parents, Grandparents, and Community.

How do I participate?  Tickets are on sale now hereIt’s really that easy.  Buy a ticket and show up in your favorite vintage-themed golf attire.  We will send you messages via text, with directions leading up to and during the event.  We are all about community building this year!  Join us for the fun even if you do not want to bid.

What’s a Buy-In Party?  It’s a party hosted and donated by Hill parents.  Buy a ticket and gain entry.  All money raised goes straight to the school.  There are adult parties, kid parties, and grade level parties to choose from.  This is an amazing way to meet people and such a fun opportunity to give back to the school.

From Principal Drummond

Dear Hill Community,

As stated in a previous message, Hill School is open for business tomorrow. We ask that if you are still without power or are going through a different hardship, that you reach out and let your teacher know. As stated, all absences for those reasons will be excused. Reach out to Principal Drummond if you need support so we can work with you.

This week we celebrate Counselor Appreciation Week! Please join us in appreciating all that Sarah Kelton and Stephanie Winfrey do for our students, staff, and families. They are award winning for a reason! We are lucky to have them at Hill School.

Book Fair has been extended! We will continue this week through Thursday so everyone has a chance to visit. That includes being open after school until 4:00 pm each day for families to access. See the past Dillo Details or last week’s update for more information.

PTA Meeting Update: Our PTA General Meeting planned for this week is now moved to Thursday, February 16th at 7:45 am in our Hill Library. We will be welcoming Board Trustee Kathryn Whitley Chu to give us an update and introduction. We hope to see you there.

We hope everyone has a calm week as we look to get back on track. Thank you and again, please reach out if you need support.

Principal Drummond
