Families with students in First through Fifth grades, join us for Back to School Night on September 7th. This is a parent-only evening.
5:30-6:00pm. Cafeteria. Short presentations from Hill administration, Essential Areas, and PTA.
6:00-6:45pm. Classrooms. Presentations from your classroom teacher(s). Families who need to visit multiple classrooms are invited to move in and out as needed.
Garden Work Day: Come help us spruce up our Hill campus and get the garden ready for fall planting! THIS SATURDAY, Aug 5th, 7:30- 9:30am, meet us at the front entrance of Hill. Bring water bottles, garden gloves and come ready to work! Lots of quick, specific jobs available, so even if you can only come for a bit, we will put you and your kids to work!

Lil’ Dillo Merch: Hey lil’ Dillos! We heard a rumblin’ from some of the youngest Dillos that the youth small tee shirt felt as big as the Texas sky so we returned to the shed and rustled up a size 5T (aka YXS) Hill Dillos tee option for ya. Get yorn here: https://www.hillelementary.com/product/hill-dillos-5t-short-sleeve-tee/
And a friendly reminder that you have about two weeks to get your 2023 fall Hill Dillo gear!

PEX CAMP: Are your Dillos bored? Do you wish you had signed them up for something else? You’re in luck! Coach Shaw has a few open PE Extension spots the week of June 26-29, and a handful of open spots for July 24-27. Join the P.E.X. family! It’s like Sports Day, but four days in a row! SIGN UP HERE!
SPROUT SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Have you ordered your school supplies for next year? Orders close in a month, on July 11th! Don’t miss this opportunity to get your Dillos’ supplies delivered right to their homeroom classrooms! This is also a great way to raise funds for our sweet school, because Sprout gives us cash back for every box that is purchased. Just go to www.sproutsupplies.com and enter school code HES003! Easy!
One more huge thank you again to all of the students, parents, staff, volunteers, spectators, teachers, and everyone who helped make this year’s Heritage Week such a great experience.
We hope you enjoy these videos and slideshow from this year’s parade:
If you are interested in joining our 2023-24 Hill Heritage Committee, please email culturalcommittee@hillelementary.com. Have a great summer!
Last call! Just a reminder that TOMORROW is the last chance to claim items from the lost and found. Next week, anything left will be made available to the Hill community. For 5th grade parents: to make things easier on you all, items left in their building will be in specially marked boxes.
We’ll continue to try to return labeled items to their owners so please remember to write your kids’ names on all clothes, lunchboxes, and water bottles.
Hill Carnival is next week, and we are thrilled to spend the evening of Friday, March 31st with everyone! Incredible games, spectacular music by Rising Ivy, delicious food truck fare, our famous Haunted House, and MORE await you! If you bought your wristbands last Fall and need to pick them up, we’ll be at the front of the school next week to give them to you. If you still need to buy your wristbands, the link has been a bit temperamental so we have a new link for you!

Soon-to-be Dillos, we are excited to see you TOMORROW!
Wednesday, April 12th at 9:00am is our Hill PreK and Kindergarten Round Up!
Incoming students will visit a PreK or Kindergarten classroom for a fun activity.
Parents will have an opportunity to complete registration tasks.
We can’t wait to welcome you!

We apologize for the formatting of Sunday night’s Dillo Details! We know it is hard to read! It’s not an easy feat to reformat and resend, so just head over to www.hillelementary.com. Scroll down to the “Latest News” subheading, click on the first graphic to read its contents, then you’ll be able to scroll through all of tonight’s posts!

One of our most beloved events is right around the corner! We invite all of our Hill families to share their cultural heritages with the community, and we have two exciting events planned for next week, March 27-30th.
The Heritage Parade will be held on Thursday, March 30th, after morning assembly. Kids can dress up in cultural attire and/or wave flags during the parade. Participation is optional but encouraged. For more info and to signup, please register here by Monday March 27th.
International Book Reading: Do you speak another language? We would love for you to come read a short book to a Hill classroom during Heritage Week. Our Dillos love this tradition, so dust off those books and come read to our children! For more info and to signup, please register here by Monday March 27th.
