This Spring, Hill Elementary students in grades 2-5 will have the opportunity to participate in a University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic Meet with other students from across the Austin Independent School District. The purpose is to provide elementary students the opportunity to academically compete with their AISD peers in a fun, supportive environment! Events include spelling, oral reading, number sense and social studies, just to name a few.
Information about this event will be coming home with interested children next week.
On February 20 at 7:45 a.m., we will have an informational meeting with parents in the Hill Library. We are looking forward to this fun event this April!
Also…..Principal Coffee on Feb. 15 – Wendi Caudill, Food Services Supervisor, will be our guest. She will share details about the food services program in AISD.

It’s Counselor Appreciation Week and we have two of the best! Stephanie Winfrey and Sheila Wessels are award winning (CREST Award recipients) counselors and do so much for our Hill Dillos every day. Let’s show our appreciation this week and shower them with kindness! Have your child make them a handmade card, send in treats, or personally stop by and thank them for all they do.

Murchison Choice Sheet Fair will be in the Murchison Cafeteria & Gym from 5:30-7:30pm. 6th grade session is from 5:30-6pm and 7th and 8th grade session is from 6-6:30pm.
Carrie Mays with the Texas PTA is looking for volunteers to help judge their Reflections student contest at the state level. Contest categories requiring judges are dance choreography, literature, film production and music composition. This is a student arts program covering all grades. Judges do not have to be an expert in the subject they are judging. Judges will rate electronically, so you can do it from the conform of your own home. Judging will start at the beginning of February.
