Parking Reminder

Please do not park on Tallwood Drive between Cima Serena and the Hill driveway entrance during arrival and dismissal times.  There are many posted City of Austin No Parking signs in this area, as well as on Cima Serena.  This curbside area is reserved for the car line at the posted times.  A parked car stops the car line because cars around the corner can not see that they are being blocked by a parked car.  This is very disruptive to the arrival/dismissal process.  Thanks so much for following the rules that keep traffic moving and keep our kids safe!

Lockdown Drill this Thursday!

We will be completing our mandatory spring lockdown drill this Thursday at 1:30. While this is a drill, a real lockdown is used for an intruder or violence on campus. Staff will instruct students on proper completion of the drill and a PA announcement will be made to calmly explain to students that it is taking place. Administrators and office staff will check to ensure proper completion of the drill. We expect it to last no longer than 3 minutes or so.

Congratulations Mrs. Cotten!!

Congrats to Mrs. Cotten! She recently won the 2018 Fund the Teachers award and will receive $5,000 to learn under Dr. Miller, the Director of Research at Baker University. Mrs. Cotten will study more about microscopic life, biology and how to conduct accurate research in the field. Then she will condcut biodiversity surveys in two different rainforests, one tropical, one temperate. Ms. Cotten will take that back to her classroom and teach the kiddos what she learned, and they will carry out similar studies in the classroom!
