Lost and Found

Is your child’s jean jacket labeled “NH”? Did you use a thick marker to write your child’s name on her jacket only to discover you’d made several illegible black smears? Regrettably the Lost and Found cannot return found items unless they are labeled legibly with first and last name.  Need quality labels at a great price?  Purchase HERE (https://www.stickerkid.com/usa_en?oid=63073_5332) and Hill earns Free Money, too!

Hill Writing Challenge

We are so happy to announce our second year of the Hill Writing Challenge which began this last week! The purpose of this challenge is for students to familiarize themselves with expository writing prior to 4th grade, a very different skill than the more creative writing many are used to. The prompt for this challenge is “Who are you grateful for?” Students will write a letter to someone important to them with reasons and details on how this person has impacted their life. Students should have brought home one page instructions and an outline on how to complete. Extras will be in the front office. Final papers are due October 26th to the turn in box in the office. We can’t wait to read the positive letters your students create!

2017 Hill Elementary School BOND

The AISD School Board recently pushed up the timeline for the 2017 Hill Elementary School BOND work approved by the voters!  The design procurement was originally scheduled for January 2020, but was moved up to September 2018.  The adjusted construction period will begin June 2020 with an adjusted completion date of August 2021.

As the architect and design team are selected for our project, we are looking to form a Hill Campus Architectural Design Team.  This team will be comprised of staff, parents and community and district personnel.  If you are interested in more information or would like to serve on this team, please let Beth Newton know, by contacting her at (512) 414-4270 or beth.newton@austinisd.org.

We will continue to keep you informed of next steps in this process!

TROJAN PINK OUT

Anderson High School is excited to announce this year’s TROJAN PINK OUT calendar of events. We are counting on you, our vertical team families, friends and fans, to help us turn Anderson’s stands and audiences PINK this October. Karin Foster will be selling Anderson’s signature TROJAN PINK OUT t-shirts starting this week, but please don’t hesitate to wear anything pink you already have in your closet too.

Trojan Pink Out events are intended to raise Breast Cancer Awareness at Anderson and in our greater community. Education, early detection and timely treatment of this terrible disease are all critical steps in the fight to save lives. In recent years, too many amazing women in our community have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and we are blessed to count many of them as courageous fighters, close friends and SURVIVORS.

TROJAN PINK OUT t-shirts will be sold for $10 (cash or check, made payable to Komen Austin) at the Anderson Spirit Store starting this week through the end of October. Need your official TPO t-shirt now! Email Karin Foster at bkrjf@aol.com for individualized purchase/delivery options.

Thank you for helping us turn Anderson PINK this October!
