Dress up in your favorite 50’s outfits (poodle skirts and rolled up jeans) or come as you are! It is fun for the whole family…dinner, dancing, contests and entertainment. This annual family night is a Hill favorite.
Hill Country Carnival
The Hill Country Carnival is the largest event (and fundraiser!) Hill puts on every year. From purchasing wristbands & tickets… to volunteering at a class booth… to donating toys or baked goods… there are lots of ways volunteers make the carnival a success.
Veterans Day Assembly
All Hill community veterans and active duty service members are invited to this school-wide assembly, followed by an informal reception in the library. This tradition includes turning the yellow brick wall into our Veterans Wall. Students and community members are asked to submit photos to display on this wall.
A form will be made available so students can including their relative’s name, photo, relationship to Hill, and service details.
Heritage Fashion Show
This annual tradition celebrates Hill’s diverse student body in which students wear traditional costumes to honor their culture and heritage. All students Pre-K to 5th are encouraged to participate.
Fine Arts Festival and Science Fair
Hill hosts a Fine Arts Festival and a Science Fair on alternating years. Both events are fun and free and show off the talents and brainpower of our awesome Hill Dillos!
This annual parent, staff and teacher social is an adults-only get-together that always always proves to be a fun and memorable night. Come for the company, but stay for the Silent and Live Auctions to help raise money for Hill!
Every Spring, Hill Elementary hosts a Scholastic Book Fair. This week-long event features affordable books for kids of all ages… Newly-released books and best-sellers to award-winning titles and long-time favorites! Every book sold is a fundraiser for the school.
The Dillo Dash is an annual event that brings the whole family out to support healthy lifestyles and being physically active together as a Hill community! The 1K family fun run and walk starts and ends at the Anderson High School track. Post-race activities include an obstacle course, soccer drills, field goal kicking and photo ops with Dash, the Hill mascot. T-shirts are available for pre-order before the event.
Caring & Sharing Weeks
Students are encouraged to bring donations in support of a non-profit organization. Requested donations vary depending on the recipient, but can range from books to clothes to canned goods. Watch for posters and more information close to each Caring & Sharing Week.
Once to twice a year, Hill teams up with the Central Area Texas Blood and Tissue Center for much needed donations. Stop by at morning drop-off or at lunchtime and donate a pint.
